The initial Board of Directors took office on July 1, 2009 after successfully launching the first Austin chapter of the National Association of Business Owners.  They are proud of this monumental achievement and have worked very hard to create meaningful educational opportunities at the monthly meetings and quarterly educational forums.  All initial Board members will serve the remainder of 2009 and start their annual term next year – each having agreed to serve a longer initial term which will end in December 2010.  The Treasurer will serve a two year term until December 2011.  The Board members are as follows:

Nancy Williamson

Nancy Williamson is a Certified Public Accountant with almost 20 years of hands on industry experience.  She is a partner with Hamann & Williamson, LLP, a Texas based CPA firm focused on taxation, financial and business consulting services.   She has been licensed to practice public accounting in Texas since 1991.  A graduate of the University of Texas—Austin with a Bachelors in Business with a concentration in Accounting,  she started her career with Arthur Andersen and moved on to become a Controller and then Vice President of Finance and Operations for a billion dollar insurance corporation. Her consulting career was kick started quickly when she was placed in charge of 16 consultants to manage a large fraud campaign where she and her team were instrumental in collecting over 30 million dollars in damages. From there she moved on to installing accounting and manufacturing computer systems for family owned and publicly traded corporations. Performance reviews of school districts around Texas were her next consulting opportunity where she recommended millions of dollars of cost savings.

Her business valuations have been tried and tested through the court system in a variety of different circumstance and industries. She’s been named as an expert witness in over 30 different cases and has provided a wide variety of services to plaintiff and defense attorneys.

She and her husband own their own manufacturing company where she gained a firsthand knowledge of the challenges facing business owners.  She writes and provides training and insight on the challenges facing business owners and the importance of understanding and preparing for the future. Her mission is to inspire other to value the knowledge she can impart in the areas of finance, business and women’s issues.   She is proud to offer a one-stop financial solution for all her client’s financial needs

Amy Stevens

Amy Stevens is a founding partner of Marketing Edge Ventures, a thriving firm providing creative Marketing Consulting and Strategy services for both commercial and government entities.
Her firm provides complete services for marketing and sales, from lead development and database management to advertising strategy and creation.   Amy has experience in mid-to-Executive Management positions of high-tech industry firms and extensive work in Customer Service, Account Management, and New Account Development for online companies, start ups, and companies seeking funding and growth.

Amy is a professional, Nationally-recognized speaker and trainer in the areas of leadership, sales, marketing, and customer service. She specializes in strategic alliances, low cost marketing, and development of recurring revenue systems within organizations.

Amy is a published author, and has been nominated for many awards, including the Girl Scouts Women of Distinction Award, and Working Mother’s “Raising a Ruckus Award” due to her support and active involvement with the Texas Army National Guard Family Programs during her husband’s deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. She speaks nationally to military families and sells her book:  America’s Hidden Heroes: Survival Tactics for the Families of Our Military Forces to groups and organizations around the country.
